lazuli finch

Don't be a spoilsport.
If the elm wants to pretend it's an elm,
let it. Sit under its leaves
and shelter from the sun. If the finch
pretends to sing, learn its song. Whistle it back.
If your father pretends to die, bury him.
No longer hear his voice
or live in his shadow.
