Currently reading 3 books, one each nonfiction, fiction and poetry. I've barely started all 3 and have little to say about them.
Democracy Matters: Winning the Fight Against Imperialism, Cornel West. Nonfiction. This book was published in 2004, when it was still possible to call the G W Bush presidency "a low point in America's rocky history." Good times, good times.
Dom Casmurro, Machado de Assis, translated by Helen Caldwell. Fiction. I'm not far in, but so far it reminds me of Italo Svevo's Confessions of Zeno.
Women Romantic Poets 1785-1832: An Anthology, selected and introduced by Jennifer Breen. Poetry. I'm still in the introduction, because I'm that kind of person, and not up to the poetry yet.
